I just needed someone who would listen.
When I reached out, I was struggling with my relationship with my mom. She and I had always struggled. We'd argue. We'd yell. We'd fight. She hardly ever understood me or agreed with me, but she'd always been the one who'd at least listen to me. Now she wasn't even doing that anymore. Suddenly, the one person I'd always been able to talk to, wasn't talking to me. And I realized my relationship with her was the thing I really needed to talk about. So I called Colorado Crisis Services. I talked for what felt like forever, and they listened. Things with my mom still aren't great, but they're getting better. And thanks to the help I've received through Colorado Crisis Services, I'm getting better too. And if you reach out, so can you.

My stress had grown into anxiety, and I was starting to worry.
When I reached out, I actually wondered if I'd be wasting someone's time. I'd been battling anxiety for a while, and it was getting harder to manage, but I certainly didn't feel like I was in crisis. Still, things had gotten to the point where I knew I needed help, and I wasn't sure where else to turn. I couldn't tell my boss that my recent sick days were actually due to panic attacks—he'd never look at me the same way again. Same story with my family—they're great, but I just don't think they'd understand something like this. So after putting it off for weeks, I finally called Colorado Crisis Services, which led to finally getting the help I needed, so that my anxiety never did reach the point of crisis. If you're reading this and wondering whether or not you should call, I'd say you probably should. You have nothing to lose—and healing to gain.

My life felt like a bad dream and I was losing sleep over it.
When I reached out, I was neck deep in debt. I had been laid off months ago, our savings were dwindling, and I wasn’t sure how, or if, we’d make it. I felt stuck and afraid. I couldn’t get our financial struggles off my mind. At 3AM on a sleepless night, I finally called Colorado Crisis Services. With kindness, they listened and walked me through tips that I could take to get further help. Everything wasn’t immediately solved, but I was relieved. That same expert help is waiting for you, too. Just call. You’ll be glad you did.

My baby wasn’t sleeping and I couldn’t get through the day.
I knew having a child would be stressful. I was ready for that. But I wasn’t ready for the feeling that everything was spinning our of control. My husband’s job demanded long hours, so I was usually on my own. I was overwhelmed, exhausted beyond belief, and had very little support. Even worse, I was starting to resent my own child – and that feeling terrified me. On the verge of breaking, I finally called Colorado Crisis Services. I spoke with a parent who had gone through a surprinsingly similar situation to mine, and she walked me through additional steps for getting help. That one simple call has made such a big difference. And it can make a difference for you, too.
