Who Uses Crisis Chat?
Anyone who is depressed, going through a hard time, or just needs to talk, including people who are thinking about suicide. Any life issues may be discussed on the chat program. The chat specialists are here to listen and support you through whatever difficult times you may be facing.
Who responds to Crisis Chat?
Chat specialists are Master level crisis clinicians at Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners, a provider of Colorado Crisis Services. They are here to provide emotional online support, crisis intervention and suicide assessments. The goal is to help you reduce stress and feel empowered to make healthy decisions. Chat specialists will ask questions about your situation, your safety and your thoughts and emotions to work with you to develop effective plans for next steps. If a chat specialist feels you are in danger, he/she will discuss accessing emergency services to make sure you are safe. Chat specialists will collaborate with you to create safety plans as needed.
Are my chats confidential?
The confidentiality and security of chats is ensured through the chat software provider, which uses the same encryption and data protection standards required by major financial institutions to transact business with each other. All of your communications are securely encrypted from your computer to ours. How do I use Crisis Chat?
Click the “chat now” button at the top of this page to read and accept the Terms and Conditions. You will then be directed to a few pre-chat questions. This information provides the chat specialist with some basic information that you provide. At the end of your chat, you will also have the opportunity to answer a few questions about your chat experience. All of these questions help gather information about chat services so that we can continue to improve our services and expand the availability of chat.
